Date night.

Friday night my darling and I went downtown for a charming double date with my bff from High School.

We ate at Wild Wings Cafe, which surprisingly had a fantastic menu. I ordered a mexican dish & B had chicken.

What I'm Loving.

I do realize that this post is a good 4 + days late.

I'm loving that I bought crocs. Yes, crocs. The ugly, fashion disaster name brand. But, I'm unashamed to admit that I love them. I love them for the pool, I love them for biking, I love them for chasing children, I love that they wipe off and don't ruin like the rest of my nice shoes. I love that they look wonderful with my new work uniform: a pair of running shorts and a t-shirt. I do love my crocs.

I'm loving that my hair is growing out rather quickly! It's now just past my shoulders. I love Kate Beckinsale's hair ( and face of course), and would love to imitate this style when my hair gets just an inch or two longer.

I'm loving the new running skort I bought. It's perfect for being outside in. the sweat-absorbing fabric is essential for this South Carolina heat (90s or above!). I like that it's black so it pairs with my crocs and any top easily.

I'm loving the taste of tomato soup. I mixed a little milk with mine last week and had a couple bites for lunch. It was so yummy and perfect for a rainy day :).

Finally, I'm loving this grey polish I picked up called Gray Area by Sally Hansen. It's a wonderfully dark, deep gray. It goes well with anything.

Have a wonderful week!!

Busy-ness .

After jumping into week number two of my summer schedule, it's safe to say that blogging isn't going to be on the top of my to-do lists :/.  I'm still trying to find time to run to the bank, library and store before they close. ( I arrive at work at 8 a.m. and leave the city around 7:00/8:00 each evening). My weeks are full of trips to the pool, playing board games and sneaking little naps in for the kiddos. My job is awesome; I really do enjoy it. Most of all I appreciate everything I am learning. It's really preparing me for when I become a mother someday. The view from inside a mother's shoes is so different than the view outside! I am so thankful for the opportunity to learn new things and be exposed a little bit to motherhood.

Aside from my busy lifestyle, my mind is also very busy right now. Actually, my mind is a total construction zone. I'm a planner. I like to have everything laid out ( in my mind) and know what to expect and prepare for mentally. I've been preparing to officially start college for about one year and three months. This weekend I set everything up for my classes, got all my ducks in a row. Then God screeched another door wide open. What now? This other door holds what seems to be an easier path, a more successful path, and a smarter path all in all. But all my planning? All my excitement and readiness for finally doing the real deal school thing? I'm not sure. I don't know. All I know is that all things work together for good. He has a plan. He has the real plan, the one that will work.
Pray for me as I seek His will in my future. I do feel immense pressure since school does resume in a few months and I am quite a planner. Patience is key.. I guess.

What's in your bag?

here's a tiny peek inside my purse. What's in yours?

I'm currently using my juicy couture my sister bought me for Christmas. I love the metallic color because it's so versatile.

Nivea lip balm: I love the chunky stick Nivea lip balms. I have about 3 different kinds! They are perfect for when I don't feel like putting on a heavy gloss or lip stick, or when I'm going to be outdoors for a while.
Bobby Pins: girly lifesavers
Hand Sanitizer: Because I'm constantly touching germy things, wiping runny noses and chasing furry dogs.
Tide to- go pen: I am horrible about spilling on myself. Probably because I do most of my eating alone and in my car.
Portable tooth brush: because clean, fresh breath is always nice.
Car keys: complete with about 20 barcodes and coupons.
Passport Holder: I use it as a coupon case. I have so many coupons and punch cards that my wallet cannot hold them all. This cute holder was a great alternative to an overlystuffed wallet!
Perfume: I try to carry a purse spray or small perfume with me. Right now I use Aerie. It smells really light and sweet and it's perfect for spraying on the go.
Contact case + solution: I've had so many contact lens mishaps that I finally got smart and started carrying around a miniature bottle of solution and case for them. This has really helped with those urgent problems!
Almonds + Cranberries: I love having healthy, non-melting snacks with me for when I'm commuting.
Revlon lip gloss: I really love to use revlon's bright pink lip color when I do decide to dress up my makeup.

Checkbook and lots of pens: I got my vera checkbook about 2 years ago and it's held up really well. I love the print as well :)

the one.

I realize that I haven't blogged in over a week now! Our staycation was wonderfully relaxing and I will post more about that later. I jumped right into a 50 + hour work week and am halfway through with it! Obviously, work and driving hasn't left much time for keeping up with the blog. On our staycation I didn't use internet  checked my email only once and used my time off to read and enjoy B's company. During those three uninterrupted days together, we bonded so, so much! I mean, hello, we already are crazy about each other or else we wouldn't be getting married, but that time was so special. Being rested and unstressed and together  for a few days really helped us to appreciate our time together and enjoy one another's company. He treated me so nicely. He took me shopping and to the pool for afternoon swims. At night we went to the movies and ate tons of calorie loaded candies. And I even let him squeeze in a little Call of Duty gaming time during the day :). It's all about compromise, people. By Monday we had nice suntans and full schedules. Now that I'm back in full swing, going about my daily routine, I keep thinking about the future. I am  the luckiest girl on the planet. Like, really. This man is the one for me. I'm not just copying those dumb love songs either. He is so special, so different than any other guy in the world. The most amazing part- He tells me that he feels crazy about me too. and his actions prove it true.

One year from today, June 9th 2012, I will marry my true love, my best friend, my soul-mate. I have been so immensely blessed. I can't even begin to count the wonderful things about my lovely fiance. thank you, Lord for such a special person.
